Prof. George Dimitrakopoulos, HUA, Greece
Professor of Wireless Networks and Applications-Intelligent Transport Systems at the School of Digital Technology, department of Informatics and Telematics of Harokopio University of Athens (HUA) (2010-), as well as the Vice-Rector of Research and Innovation of HUA. He is also a research and development coordinator (ext.) at Infineon Technologies AG in Munich, Germany (2018-). He has been actively involved, for more than 20 years, in funded research and development programs in the field of wireless communications and information technology applications. Moreover, he is the co-founder of a University spinoff (anadelta.hua.gr). In the past, he has worked as General Manager in a construction company and as a research engineer in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) oriented companies. He is also active in start-ups in Greece and the USA. His research interests are focused on the design and development of AI-enabled algorithms for the optimization of communications networks, with emphasis on cognitive networks and non-causal reasoning, applied on intelligent transport systems and highly automated / autonomous driving. He is the author of 3 complete scientific books and more than 250 articles in international scientific journals and conferences. George Dimitrakopoulos holds a degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens-NTUA (2002) and a PhD from the University of Piraeus (2007). He is included in the top 2% scientists list worldwide, according to Stanford University rankings (2021-2025).
